notes:
I have made a graph to reflect upon and sort out my notes. I think that it is important to spend time piecing apart these quotes, even if it means it not being the most legible on mobile (sorry!)

| "My heart is my most powerful intuitive guidance system and I practice leaning into it" | this is ab example of one of those affirmations |
| "We are taught to live life from our heads. To move forward with certainty and security, always knowing where we're going and when. To always have a plan. This will create a stable and predictable life, but will it actually give us purpose? Vitality? Aliveness?" | |
| "And our alignment is constantly changing and multiplying. There isn’t just “one” alignment, there are many callings throughout life that reach out to us and pull us towards them. Creative living invites us to move towards those desires rather than following inauthentic paths that swerve us away from what truly matters." | |
| "When we care for ourselves, we can further care for others." | |
| Trauma and oppression can impact our ability to feel safe, trust ourselves, or our self-worth. | |
| So, instead of tuning into our inner knowing, we default to overthinking, people-pleasing, or avoiding decisions altogether. Trauma teaches us that the world is unpredictable and dangerous, so we stop trusting ourselves to navigate it. | |
| What we can do is return to ourselves, over and over, to reclaim the pieces that get lost and empower ourselves to believe we are capable, deserving, and worthy of more. | THIS. think about coming back wrong and doubling. This idea of coming back to and for yourself. |
| somatics teaches us that there is nothing inherently wrong with what we are experiencing, and instead of fighting it, be curious about it and allow it to visit you. | |
| To strive for connection with our bodies is an act of resistance in societies that force (and encourage) us into numbness and escapism. |
- Experiencing intution:
- in the body through instinct- physical sickness and symptoms
- clear direct information that we just know
- Emphasis on somatics which I find helpful specifically for processing ptsd and trauma symptoms-- I find it personally difficult to gave a sense of myself bodily as most of the time I am dissociating. OH LMAO PAGE 29 IS ALL ABOUT THAT
- Bodily cues/clues and guidance over intrusive thoughts- balancing the two. I spend so much of my time not believing myself that this lack of trust goes further than just the unhelpful things my brain does
- Tips for reconnection:
- "Place your hands on a part of your body and listen to that area. Take deep breaths. See if any thoughts, images, memories, or visuals come up."
- Somatic movement: Liz Tenuto’s (The Workout Witch) work, "rocking, swaying, squeezing, sprawling, stroking, yawning, shaking, jumping,"
- breath work and body scans
journal prompts:
- What does the term intuition mean to me? What was I taught about intuition from my family, society, friends, and culture? How did and do these external factors influence my relationship with my intuition? What am I hoping to experience and create from having a stronger relationship with my intuition?
- What are some of my identities, experiences, or traumas that may impact my relationship with myself, others, and the world around me? How do I feel about this? What’s screaming loudly? What’s whispering quietly? What is my relationship to pleasure? Observe.
- How do I experience intuition? What resonated? What didn’t? Did I feel like something was missing?
affirmations
- It’s okay that this feeling is here, I’m safe.
- I’m ready to feel and release this, I ask for these emotions to move through me gently,
